Baby Boomer 1 VS Baby Boomer 2
Baby Boomer Gel 1 is a milky white builder gel of medium density, if applied in a thin layer it’ s semi-transparent, if instead applied in a thicker layer it’ s perfectly covering, it’ s recommended to apply it with a soft brush such as # 6 Gel or Nero Merlo 2.
The Baby Boomer Gel 2 is a milky white builder gel denser than the previous one and much more pigmented with a more intense white, it’ s recommended to apply it with a less flexible brush such as Firm Gel Gel or Nero Merlo 3.
Here is the big difference between the two gels, they are excellent for the famous Baby Boomer technique and embrace any need.
The choice between the two builders depends on the effect you want to achieve and your dexterity.
The step by step procedure for the correct Baby Boomer technique is as follows:
Cleaning the cuticular area
Shorten the free edge
Prepare the natural nail
Position the nail form correctly
Spread the Baby Boomer Gel creating the elongation on the nail form and bring it up to the middle of the nail bed, blending the part of the white gel closest to the cuticle area. Cure it in a Lamp. (3min UV)
N.B. the white on the free edge doesen’t have to be thin but in sufficient quantity.
Proceed by shaping with Cover Refill Hard and taking care to cover the edge (therefore above the baby boomer white). Cure it in a Lamp. (3min UV)
At this point you’ re ready to file your shape.
Seal with the Top and cure it (3min UV)!
And voila, that’s it.
According to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), a non-profit charity that protects all the Animals’ rights, more than 11.5 million of them are used for experiments every year, although there are alternative tests that would prevent animals from suffering.
In Crystal Nails, we believe that you shouldn’t choose between the nail products you love and the values you believe in. As an ethically conscious brand, we’re committed to helping end animal testing and we’re proud that none of our products have been or will ever be tested on animals. We proudly display our Cruelty-Free certificate and encourage consumers to help end animal testing by purchasing only cruelty-free products.
Here is the list of curing times of Crystal Nails products.
Remember that the times you will see written below are calculated with Crystal Nails lamps with new bulbs.
The curing times always depend on the power of your lamps, how many bulbs there are in the lamp and their wattage (watts).
– UV lamp times for Crystal Lamp Pink / Black / Ecru
– Xtreme UV / LED dual curing lamp.
Crystal Nails offers a wide range of files to suit all needs.
They’ re divided into two broad categories Zebra file and Xtreme file.
They differ in turn for abrasive power.
The abrasive power (grit) is not only identified by the color of the file core but also by the type of paper with which they’ re created.
Abrasive power colors:
GREEN: 180/180 grit
BLUE: grit 150/150
BLACK: grit 100/180
PINK: grit 100/100
From green to pink we go towards greater abrasiveness, they are therefore classified as follows:
Green is more delicate and pink is more powerful. Only the Red file (black core) is the only one with double grit, the side of the logo has 180 grit while the other 100 grit.
HOW DO I CHOOSE THE CORRECT FILE?
The answer is very simple! It depends on what you have to do but above all, it depends on the dexterity of each individual nail technician.
As we have said, each file has its own function and characteristic.
If you are preparing the natural nail for the gel technique, and therefore you have to opacify, we recommend the use of the Zebra Green or Blue file and not the use of the Buffer. Because it’ s really not much abrasive, you would not get an adequate hold of the product. .
If you are preparing the natural nail for the semi-permanent technique, and therefore need to opacify, we recommend using Buffer Iron X 100/180 grit
Specifically, we can divide the various colors by use and material:
Zebra Green and Zebra Blue files are indicated for the mattifiying of the natural nail and to shorten the free edge.
Xtreme Green file is good for filing our Xtreme Fusion Gel or when there is a need to remove little material from the structure.
Xtreme Blue file is indicated for filing the gel shape, it is also suitable for eliminating all small lifts during the refill.
The Xtreme Red file is indicated both for filing the shape and for removing the product.
The Xtreme Pink file is the most abrasive file of all, it’ s good for filing acrylic or for removing the product.
Some tips on how to prepare and keep them over time!
We’re more than sure you know that brushes are among the most important tools of any nail technician. Brushes play a very important role in your work and proper preparation and maintenance of the bristles is something you should always keep in mind.
Brushes don’t last forever and still need to be changed from time to time, but with the right precautions and tricks you can greatly increase their durability.
How to prepare a new brush, just purchased?
First of all, get rid of the plastic cap, you won’t need it anymore. It’s only used for packaging and if you try to put it back you can irreparably damage the bristles of the brush, bending them.
First, open the bristles with your fingers.
Then, using a cuticle pusher, gently remove all the glue that is inside the bristles.
Position yourself under a light, move the cuticle pusher back and forth inside them, you will see all the glue come off, continue with this operation until all the powder is removed.
This step is very important, because if the bristles aren’t free from all the glue, you will not be able to get a clean and precise job when you apply builders and colors.
After this operation you are ready to dip the brush into the material to use!
Maintenance of the Brushes for Builders Gel
Builders brushes should ONLY be cleaned with a lint-free pad and always store with the cap on. Eliminate only the excess gel from the bristles and NEVER clean the brushes with the cleanser!
The brushes MUST remain wet from the builder in order to be maintained over time.
Keep brushes away from sunlight, UV and LEDs.
Maintenance of Brushes for Acrylic
After you have finished sculpting your acrylic work, dip the brush in the liquid monomer and thoroughly clean both sides.
Do not store wet acrylic brushes with the tip upwards, as it will make the liquid flow towards the ring and discolor the bristles.
How to clean brushes for color?
First of all, our advice is to use separate brushes for color gels and glitter color gels.
If you have the possibility, divide the color gel brushes also by shade.
When you need to remove the pigment from your color brush, the process is simple:
Use a clear gel, place it on a nail form or on a smooth surface and gently twist the bristles inside, you will see that the pigment will slide down.
Repeat the operation several times if necessary.
